The United Nations Theme Group on AIDS in China (UNTG) was established in 1996.The UN Joint Programme on AIDS (UNJP) in China was formally endorsed in June 2007 by the UN system and government counterparts. It provides strategic guidance to the efforts of UN agencies in the support of national response to AIDS. A joint work plan was developed and the Joint UN Team was established to implement various activities within the joint strategic workplan.
