In order to further push forward the implementation and carrying out of China’s state community disaster reduction policies, promote the further spreading of the creation and building of state comprehensive disaster reduction demonstration communities, and improve the comprehensive disaster reduction capacities of the urban and rural communities in China, the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People’s Republic of China and the United Nations Disaster Management Team held the Symposium on Community Disaster Reduction Policy and Practice at the city of Guangyuan in Sichuan province, China during November 11th-12th, 2009.
Now we compile the results at the symposium into a book for reference in our work in the future.
