Resident Coordinator

The Resident Coordinator system aims to bring together the different UN agencies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operational activities at the country level. Resident Coordinator leads the UN Country Team (composed of heads of all UN operating agencies in China) and is the designated representative of the Secretary-General for development operations in the country.

The Resident Coordinator role is pivotal to the success of the United Nations in reaching our goals in each of the countries we serve. The Resident Coordinator leads and strategically positions the United Nations country team in support of national priorities, development strategies, and plans.
